umm...I really didn't think this through so here's what you have to really pay attention on:
:bulletred: Separate layers for skin, hair, eyes, teeth, clothes, background. I usually shade on the flat colour layer themselves.
:bulletred: Full opacity for flat colour and low opacity for shading. And by that I mean the brush's opacity setting.


Oh god. I hope this helped.

And there are a lot of other tutorials that are better than this. Haha.

Even though I don't have a tablet or Photoshop (I DO have a program with layers, but it doesn't have all the things you have in the tutorial), this is still really useful. Thank you for making this! C:



*looks around awkwardly* Er, what IS a tablet? People mention it all the time on here and I have yet to figure out what it is. >_<

it's a hardware used for drawing, not like the literal iPad...like this: [link]

the pen works like a mouse and you can draw as you look at the screen, not on the actual tablet. :D it's cool.

Ah, thank you! I might ask for a beginner one for Christmas now, it's really hard to draw with a mouse. :)

ohmygoshnowayseriouslyI found this tutorial forever ago...I can't remember if it was on tumblr or on here when I didn't have deviantART anyways and I saved it onto my computer and have been using it and just sereaching through your whole archive I realise it's yours! Very cool - it's been very helpful :aww:
